This is a list of a few Firefox extensions I have found useful. After recommending these to people quite often, I have decided to toss together a list. If you like this check out my program list. Enjoy…

Aardvark
+clean up unwanted banners and surrounding “fluff,” especially prior to printing a page +see how the page is created, block by block +view the source code of one or more elements
CustomizeGoogle * anonymous/filtered search results *
+anonymize Google cookie UID +Blocks Google Analytics cookies +adds links to other search sites +removes ads (also in gmail) +adds google suggest to search box (guesses what you are typing) +adds link to previous version of the page (via web.archive.org) +rewrites image result links to point straight to images
del.icio.us
+toolbar button or right click to tag page in popup window (don’t have to leave the page you’re on) +highlight text then hit post and the highlight text will be added to the notes section of your tag +adds delicious to search Firefox search options
Dictionary Tooltip
+press key combo or double-click on a word to see its meaning +several dictionarys to choose from (incl. foreign/slang)
FlashBlock * prevents annoying Flash ads *
+blocks all flash content from loading +creates placeholder on the webpage that allow you to click to download/view the flash content
Gmail Manager
+manage multiple gmail accounts +double-click status bar icon to auto-login +receive new mail notifications
IE Tab
+opens webpages using Internet Explorer within a Firefox tab +hit status bar icon to toggle between firefox and IE
Fire Gestures * essential for quick browsing *
+rapid execution of common browser commands with mouse movements +see homepage for examples, once you learn a few basic commands you will be addicted +also supports rocker gestures (rt click, left click = back; etc) and mouse wheel rockers (hold down rt button, use wheel to scroll through tabs)
NoScript
+allows JavaScript and Java execution only for trusted domains of your choice (eg. your home-banking web site) +toggle whitelist status for current site via status bar icon
Tab Mix Plus * tab browsing options, undo closed tabs list, session saver/crash recovery, duplicate tab, merge windows, etc, etc, etc. *
+session saver feature restores firefox tabs exactly as they were before Firefox closed +too many features to list here, install and look at the options +must have
Uppity
+quickly Navigate up one level (directory). It will remove an in-page anchor, the querystring, the file, and the last directory in that order, whichever is found first
*add the Uppity button to the left of your address bar for best results
